As you can see in the video that we’re basing the project on, they use a face rig to practice tracking on the character. We’re using the next few weeks of the project to practice tracking and compositing before we jump into editing the final footage. We’re going to test tracking in After Effects and Maya to see which works most effectively incase we can find a way to access 3D Equalizer and boujou. I’ve created a few face rigs to test tracking on, as well as a few designs. The dots on the end of each line represent the tracking points on the characters face that will be used when creating the 3d tracking path. When filming, the character will have several tracking points on their face, but these dots locating on the end of the rig will be the ones that I’ll track. I’ve created two rigs that I will test (below) and then these will be placed inside of the helmet in the final composition to continued the (Hopefully) smooth and seamless tracking.
